Well, I know that many new designers have trouble finding work to do because they don’t have any portofolio with previous works. I know a very good way that everybody can use. It’s simple and in 1-2 months you can be one of the best designers out there.

Here is what you have to do:

    • Post a thread at DP or other webmaster forums offering your design services for FREE for a limited time (5-7 days.) Make sure you make quality work so you can earn confidence in people.
    • After you finished your first offer make another one: this time it’s not free but it is very very CHEAP. By that I mean 1$-2$ logos or headers and other stuff like that. Do this for cheap till you got enough money to get a .com domain and decent web hosting.
    • At this time you have the needed money for a domain and hosting. Go to GoDaddy.com ( I strongly recommend this registrar ) and buy a .com domain ( you can get it for ~7$ with coupon codes ). Then go to HostGator.com and setup a hosting account with their Baby plan with 0.01$ coupon for 1st month (Google for the coupon)
    • Now you got yourself the chance to start your portofolio. It’s time to show off all your skills in designing an attractive website that would make any webmaster to hire your right away. After you finish your website put all your best works.
    • Finish the cheap designs offer and start a real thread with normal prices. By that I mean 10$ logos, 20$ headers. I’m quite sure you’ll get many clients because you’ll have a good portofolio that everybody can see and not expensive prices ( some guys want up to 150$ for header. )
    • With the passage of time you can always increase the prices and move on in new stuff or things.

That’s all you need to know to start your online design portofolio and in this way you can earn up to 50$ per day. Also, I strongly recommend not to participate in design contest because they are very hard to be won. Make only individual works where your are guaranteed that you’ll take money.

    Thank you for your time,
